Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

August 24, 2006

I walked from the hotel to the Old City, and on my way passed through a large park. At one edge is this tomb. It is filled with flowers, and I was startled to see the two soldiers standing guard. They were so still! I did not know how appropriate it was for me to photograph them (no one stood close to the tomb, so I felt a bit conspicuous with my camera), so I kept my distance and zoomed in. The fountain beyond the tomb is being repaired.
